I was born in Charleston, SC, one of a long line of Lowcountry natives. As an Army brat, I lived along the East Coast and in Germany--but home was always South Carolina. I met my husband near Savannah, Georgia in my senior year of high school and married him just out of my first year of college.
I always loved to read and had vague dreams of one day becoming a writer, but I attended the College of Charleston with the goal of becoming a family doctor, focusing on the sciences and music.
Upon receiving my bachelor's degree, I went to naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University near Seattle, WA. While there, my beautiful son and daughter were born--both water homebirths delivered with the aid of a wonderful naturopathic midwife.
After moving to Savannah, GA, I worked for a couple of years as a naturopathic physician before deciding to stay home with my children full-time. Soon afterwards, my kids were in school and the writing began.
My hobbies include genealogy, reading, languages, playing the flute for church, and attempting to play the piano at home.
